Alive And Kicking: A Story of Crime, Addiction and Redemption in Glasgow’s Gangland

Irvine Welsh has written the foreword to Alive And Kicking, an autobiography by David Bryce, the former heroin addict and alchoholic who set up Carlton Athletic, a football team and social group made up solely of recovering drugs addicts, which is still going strong today.

Bryce’s book described as “a remarkable story of crime, violence, alcoholism and drug addiction in Glasgow’s gangland”. Pretty much real life Trainspotting then. I haven’t read Welsh’s foreword or the book unfortunately, so I can’t say if it’s any good or not.
