The Scotsman: Millionaire author Irvine Welsh has escaped paying income tax while writing his latest novel.

The Leith-born author of Trainspotting is taking advantage of an Irish tax exemption for cultural projects while he lives in Dublin.

Welsh moved to his new tax-haven earlier this year to be with his partner, who is studying at university in the city. Read more
