Wasn’t expecting this. The Scotsman provides a lengthy new interview with Mr Welsh, grabbing him to talk while he’s back in Edinburgh to help promote the One City book. It’s a great, detailed interview about where the 48-year old and newly married Welsh is at in his life now – there’s a lot of stuff about One City and why he think it’s important and a little bit more about his next novel, Bedroom Secrets Of The Master Chefs which is due out later next year. He’s clearly in fine form and very fired up – the interview also mentions the numerous projects in which Welsh is currently involved.
The Scotsman also published a separate article about One City, explaining how copies of the book were going to be left all around the city for people to pick up for free and encouraged to notify the One City site of where they found it and who they passed it onto. This is a great idea – it will be interesting to see how it works. BookCrossing.com has been doing something similar for a few years, but it’s the first time I’ve heard of this approach being used as a way to publicise a book.
